1. Is being late acceptable in your country?
No, not really. Here you absolutely need to be punctual and being late is frowned upon. And I think it’s normal, how can it be acceptable that when you have an appointment at a certain time and you show up late. Just now with mobile phones it’s easier to be late with friends and people you know, but for work you can never be late.
I think being late is part of our culture. It’s always been like that and I think it will never change. It’s really no problem to be an hour late and it’s actually quite weird if you would be on time. Except maybe for important meetings at work, still clients show up late all the time. We just can’t.
