General IELTS Writing Task 1/ IELTS Letter:
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any address.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear…,
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the heating and cooling system during my recent stay at your hotel. I stayed in room 305 from July 15th to July 18th, and I was quite disappointed with the inadequate climate control.
The weather during my stay was unusually hot for this time of year, reaching over 30 degrees Celsius. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in my room was not functioning properly, making it unbearably warm. Despite setting the thermostat to the lowest possible temperature, the room remained stifling. This made it extremely difficult to sleep and relax after a long day of sightseeing in the city.
To cope with the uncomfortable heat, I had to purchase a portable fan from a nearby store and keep the windows open, which was far from ideal due to the noise from the street. This temporary solution was inconvenient and did not provide the comfort expected from a hotel of your calibre.
I strongly urge you to review and upgrade the heating and cooling system in your hotel to ensure it can handle extreme weather conditions. Additionally, I suggest that regular maintenance checks be conducted to prevent future guests from experiencing similar issues.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope you take the necessary actions to improve your facilities.
Yours faithfully,
