General IELTS Writing Task 1 Model Example

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my disappointment with the dining experience my family and I had at your restaurant last Saturday evening. We chose your establishment to celebrate a special family occasion, having heard good reviews and expecting a pleasant evening.

However, we encountered several issues that marred our experience. Firstly, the service was exceptionally slow. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait for over 30 minutes to be seated. Once seated, it took another 20 minutes before a waiter attended to us. Secondly, the food quality was well below our expectations. The pasta dishes were bland and lukewarm, and the steak, ordered medium-rare, arrived overcooked and tough. Additionally, the side dishes seemed hastily prepared and lacked seasoning.

Given these problems, I would appreciate it if you could address these issues with your staff to ensure a better experience for future customers. Furthermore, I kindly request a partial refund for our meal, as it did not meet the standards advertised. I hope you take this feedback seriously to improve your services.
