General IELTS Writing Task 1/ IELTS Letter:
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any address.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear…,
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at your store recently. I purchased a jacket from your shop on [date of purchase], and upon closer inspection at home, I discovered a noticeable fault with the zipper. It does not function properly, making the jacket difficult to wear.
When I returned to the shop to request a replacement or a refund, the assistant informed me that it was against the store’s policy to offer such remedies. This response was quite surprising and disappointing, as I believe it is standard practice to accept returns or exchanges for faulty goods.
I kindly request that you reconsider my situation and provide either a replacement jacket or a full refund. The item is clearly defective, and it is unreasonable for customers to be denied a solution in such cases. I trust that you will take this matter seriously and uphold the standards of customer service and satisfaction that your store is known for.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution.
Yours faithfully,
