Here are some of the questions asked and example answers:

1. Describe an important email you have received.

You should say:

  • Who sent it to you.
  • When you got it.
  • What was it about

And explain why this email was important to you.

Example Answer

I remember this one email that completely changed the game for me.

It came from the hiring manager of a company I’d been eyeing for a while. I got it one morning while I was sifting through my inbox.

The subject line had me hooked: “Job Offer from The language school.” My heart practically leaped out of my chest as I clicked it open, and there it was – the official offer letter for a job in another country.

Inside, the email laid out all the details – salary, benefits, start date, you name it. It even mentioned help with relocating and sorting out a work visa.

Now, why was this email so important? Well, for starters, it was a major milestone in my career journey. Bagging a job abroad had been a dream of mine for ages, and getting that offer felt like all my hard work had finally paid off.

Plus, it was a ticket to a whole new world of opportunities and experiences. Moving to another country meant diving headfirst into a different culture, expanding my professional horizons, and soaking up all kinds of new experiences.

But let’s not forget – this email wasn’t just about work. It signaled a big shift in my life. It meant leaving behind the familiar and venturing into the unknown, which was both thrilling and a bit scary. But deep down, I knew it was exactly what I needed to grow and challenge myself.

So yeah, that email was a game-changer in every sense. It marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with excitement, growth, and endless possibilities. And looking back, I’m so grateful for that one little message that set everything in motion.

2. Describe an important letter or email you wrote.

You should say:

  • who you wrote to
  • when you wrote it
  • what you wrote

and explain why you wrote that letter.

Example Answer

One important email that I remember writing was to my best friend from high school.

I wrote it a couple of years after we graduated, feeling a bit nostalgic and wanting to reconnect. You see, life had taken us in different directions after school, and we hadn’t really stayed in touch as much as I would’ve liked.

In the email, I poured out my heart, reminiscing about all the fun times we had shared and expressing how much I missed our friendship. I told her about what I’d been up to since we last saw each other and asked about her life and adventures.

The reason I wrote that email was because I realized how much our friendship meant to me and how much I valued having her in my life. Even though we had drifted apart, I wanted to make an effort to rekindle our connection and maybe even pick up where we left off.

I knew it was a bit of a risk reaching out after so long, but I figured it was worth it to try and rebuild our friendship. And you know what? She responded with so much warmth and enthusiasm, and we ended up meeting up for coffee and catching up on everything we’d missed.

Writing that email taught me the importance of nurturing relationships and reaching out to the people who matter to you, even if it’s been a while. It reminded me that true friendships can withstand the test of time and distance, and sometimes all it takes is a heartfelt message to bridge the gap.
